"I live and work in Toronto, gathering most of my metal from the shores of Lake Ontario and the abandoned railway tracks running through the port lands. The found objects are just that, bits on the ground, pieces given to me, stuff left in the back of drawers. The old windows and frames are salvaged from Northern Ontario dumps, Toronto back alleys and donated by friends.
I see exceptional beauty in rusted metal and hidden potential in abandoned artifacts. I have no memory of what gave me the idea to suspend these things in frames. Perhaps it was the result of both my love of art, and an insuppressible urge to create order and something meaningful out of the collected material at my disposal.
Many of my pieces are suitable for display both indoors and out. They look natural among greenery and define painted walls."
